December at your Library

Aaah, December is here! Sparkly decorations, house lights and snow on the ground turn our attention to the season of celebrating the people who give us joy. Whether it’s a gift of companionship, food, a warm handcrafted item, or simply the beginning of a new tradition, there’s still lots of time to make plans for this year.  If you are looking for inspiration, Neepawa Library has craft and recipe books, as well as magazines with seasonal issues on our shelves.

Canadian Library Month

Canadian Library Month
What do libraries mean to you? Would you believe that there are many who would argue that libraries serve no purpose at all? They believe that libraries should be done away with altogether, as they see them as a waste of money and resources that could be used somewhere else. To these individuals, libraries are seen as just a place that stores dusty old books.

Book It . . . At the Public Library

The Brandon Public Library’s Children’s Department offers you and your child the opportunity to select from thousands of books as you discover what will become your favourites to read together.  New titles are being added to the collection throughout the year, so there is always something new to discover.
Sharing stories with children is a service that the Brandon Public Library offers through the provision of programs.

Library Update

Library update
September 1, 2017
Summer was busy at Neepawa Library, where we celebrated all things Canada in honour of our country’s sesquicentennial. Young readers borrowed many, many books and read many, many pages! They will have a definite advantage starting school this fall as their eager brains are still primed from all the reading they did this summer. Congratulations to everyone who participated in our Summer Reading Program! And a big Thank you!

Library Update

Calling all summer readers!
Neepawa Library has lots of reading options for this summer, whether you want some fun picture books for your young readers or a little light fiction for the beach.
Summer Reading Club is well underway and runs all summer.  The theme this year is Canada and the program is for all ages, from those who still need a little help to read to those who are reading on their own, including teens.

Summer Programs

Hello Everyone!
Summer is upon us once again, which means that it is time for summer programming here at the library! This year we have a variety of clubs and contests for all ages. For the adults we have the Adult Summer Reading Club where participants are invited to submit reviews on the books they have read and will be eligible to win a prize! Reviews can be submitted to or at their local library branch.

Summer Programs

Summer holidays are on their way, and so is Summer Reading at the Brandon Public Library! The TD Summer Reading Club is a Canada-wide program to encourage kids to keep on reading, learning, and exploring all summer long. Children of all ages are invited to sign up for a free Reading Log at the Library’s Children’s Services Desk. Children record how much time they spend reading, and earn draw entries to win prizes. This year’s prizes are all Canada 150–themed. The Summer Reading Club has something for younger children too.
