The party of the year is almost here!
March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’s birthday—what better way to celebrate than to read?
Did you know Dr. Seuss would be 113 this year? While he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the pages of his books. He forever changed the way childrens books were written and continues to inspire generations. His many bizarre, colourful and zany tales are still cherished by young and old alike, and, are read all across the world every single day.
If you fancy paying a fitting tribute, read Dr. Seuss books, use your imagination, and be silly!
Read Dr. Seuss' The Foot Book aloud and encourage your child to create dance moves to go with the book.
Or read Oh, the Places You'll Go!, get out a map, and talk about all the places you and your family would like to visit.
You could also read a favorite of mine Green Eggs and Ham and then try a new food.
In his honor, the Glenboro/South Cypress Library will start the celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday a day earlier on Wednesday March 1st, 2017 at 10am with our 'Learning Together – Happy Birthday to you Dr. Seuss Literacy Program.
These programs are free but advance registration is appreciated to ensure enough material is available for everyone.
